we know it’s important to have a way to effectively show the skills you spend time cultivating. that’s why we’re we’re excited to roll out linkedin skill assessments, a new way for you to validate the skills you have. once candidates have completed an assessment, a badge will be displayed on their profile in linkedin recruiter and linkedin jobs so hirers are able to quickly identify and verify skill proficiency. any results are kept private to you, and if you pass (in the 70th percentile or above), you will have the option to add a “verified skill” badge to your profile.
if you don’t pass, you have complete control over the visibility of their results, and can brush up on your skills so you can pass next time. that’s why regardless of if you pass an assessment, we’ll outline how you did, and unlock relevant linkedin learning courses for free for a limited time to help improve your skills. this means you can continue to brush up on the skills that you’re interested in to feel more confident and motivated, as well as to set yourself up for the future when it’s time to look for your next opportunity. we plan to keep expanding our skill assessment portfolio to help you show off your skills and unlock more opportunities.
these allow you to take skills to the next level by actually proving that you’re proficient within a scale. first of all, i can scroll down to the skill section and from here, click on take scale quiz but i can always access this up at the top from the jobs tab, and then selecting skill assessments. this brings up a list of the ones that are available. and if you score in the top 30% you earn a skill badge for that particular skill. so for example, if i were to scroll down here and select after effects, i get this information about the assessment. it tells me how many questions, how long i have per question, as well as how i can earn a badge. it says here that you must complete this assessment in one session.
now, if you don’t earn a badge this time you can retake it one more time. if you want to share your results you can do that. in this case, i’m going to go down to the bottom where it says practice and click on this. when i do that, it says you’re about to start. and here it says, which view is showing here. i’m not going to be good at doing this assessment in this case. now, if i were to leave it, that would be a bad thing because that would be my one opportunity. so i recommend that you take a look at these skill assessments and see if there are any skills in there that you can take the quiz on and earn that badge.
